Crochet terminology: Both US and UK.
This is a written pattern with photos and graphs.
The pattern is comprised of basic stitches and several special stitches. It uses my very own original stitch combination to produce a unique dragonfly that is specific to Auburncraft Crochet Design.
This is worked flat and features Filet work with some Popcorn stitches thrown in.
The stitches are basic but you do need to be able to focus as the length makes it just a slight challenge.
Many different yarns could be used for this design, but I used Katia Silk Degrade in fingering weight.
I worked from two balls of this alternating at each colour change to gain an even flow for the pattern. I then used a small amount of the third ball to finish the main body of the shawl and then working from the matching colour in this final ball, the border was done. This meant that I had a perfect colour match for my bottom border.
If you are looking for a yarn that will make this shawl extremely special then I suggest you seek out some Katia Silk Degrade as the drape it provides is just equisite.
My pattern testers used several different colorways and yarns with incredible results.
