This Scarf/Shawl started out life as a plain old rectangle. I drew up my design and it was too perfect. Too symmetrical!
My mind kept looking at ways to make it a little more unique!
Then the idea of a Scarf/Shawl that had been eaten by moths popped into my head. So this is my take on a Scarf/Shawl attacked by moths. The result is a rather unique wearable, which drapes nicely around the shoulders due to the Moth Eaten sections.
When I first published this design, people tended to separate into those who loved it and those who were messaging me stating how sorry they were for my lovely Scarf/Shawl being destroyed by Moths. I ended up adding a disclaimer on my marketing posts explaining that the scarf/shawl was designed with the intention of looking like it had been eaten by Moths! Then we get back fact that there are those who love it as they love unique and those who just don’t get it! Which are you?

This pattern is comprised of basic stitches. Moths Ate My Flower Scarf/Shawl uses one Scheepjes Whir (click here for Scheepjes Whirl). This creates a long rectangle shawl. A shorter shawl is achieved using less pattern repeats..
This is a fun shawl to work up and watch grow. It incorporates Filet work with a delicate border over the un-eaten sections of the edge..
