Working along the sides of the ears:
With RS facing and using the same colour yarn used for the heart face, attach the yarn to the heart shape, with a Slst, into the St before the ear starting point. Ch1, Sc into the top of the 1st Hdc of your contrasting colour. [Ch1, Sc into the top of the next row Hdc]x4. Ch1. 3Sc into the Ch1 Sp of row 6 contrasting colour.

Rep these steps for the remaining ear, attaching the yarn into the St before the beginning of the ear and finishing in the St after the ear.
Finishing:
1. With a needle and thread, sew buttons in place for eyes.
2. Cut 3 pieces of leather strap to approx 7.6cm/3inch lengths for the whiskers.
3. With a Tapestry needle and your contrasting colour yarn, sew a nose shape onto the face, catching the whiskers underneath this, by passing the needle from the back to the front and working an extended stitch downwards. Once you have the nose shape, extend the yarn down and around the edge of the heart to complete the mouth. Fasten off and cut yarn. Sew in any ends.
