Harlequin Rhapsody Scarf

Freddie Mercury would have loved this one!

 Intermediate Level

9.50 Au

This design is tribute to Freddie Mercury, the legendary frontman of Queen, had a love for the harlequin pattern. This diamond pattern characterized by its diamond shapes, became a signature element of his flamboyant style.

This is a fully reversible scarf. The pattern is the same both sides. This feature is created with a unique front/back post stitch.

The stitch is not difficult, but does take concentration to ensure placement.

This is a written pattern with photos and graphs. The graph is a colour block graph I detail how my block graphs work on my webpage (click here for how to use a colour block graph).

The pattern has a repeat of 24 rows. It requires colour work, which is a combination of tapestry and instarsia crochet, working from 4 balls consistently throughout. The main or base colour is always carried inside the stitches of the secondary colour. The secondary colour is not carried.

Once you have completed the first repeat, it is easy to continue.

I have a short video showing this stitch work on my Youtube.
