Border Left and Right Side (Longer Edge):

Note: Place Dc first St (Chs to Start) into the top of the first Dc on its side. The next Dc should be placed into the base of that St. Following Sts, place into the base of each St.

Turn the blanket on to its side.  Attach C2 at the corner edge with a Slst.

Row 1: Ch4 (counts as a Dc and a Ch). [Sk1, Dc1, Ch1]. Rep across to last 2 Sts. Sk1, Dc into last St. Turn. [97 Filet Holes]

Rep Row 1 until you have 8 Rows.  Fasten off and cut yarn. Rep these instructions  for the opposite side.

Border Top and Bottom (Shorter Edge):

Note: You will be working across the newly created side borders as well as the main body of the blanket.  For the first row, treat these filet holes in the same manner as the first row of the side border.

Row 1: Ch4 (counts as a Dc and a Ch). [Sk1, Dc1, Ch1]. Rep across to last 2 Sts. Sk1, Dc into last St. Turn.

Rep Row 1 until you have 8 Rows.  Fasten off and cut yarn.

Rep these steps for the other short edge.

How to Block:

  1.    Using a clean spray bottle and water, dampen the blanket. If you have blocking boards large enough, lay the blanket out on them. If not find a flat clean surface to lay out.

  2. Stretch the blanket gently into the shape you want it to dry in.  Straighten the border.  Pin (if you are on a surface which allows this).

  3. Allow to dry

Finishing:

With RS facing. Using C1. Join with a Slst into any Cnr.  Sc into each St around working 3 Sc into the Cnrs.  Close the round with a Slst.

Sew in any ends.

Block the Blanket for best results.
