Who wants to be my Valentine?

With Valentines day fast approaching I thought I would make something towards that end.

These are great for so many things. Make one to show your Valentine that they are the one! Turn them into garlands. Yarn bomb your secret Valentines car/house/desk with them! Turn them into book marks. Hang them from your car mirror! So many ideas.

Four rounds is all it takes!

Crochet terminology: Written below in US terminology

Notes:

  • This heart is worked in rounds with the right side always facing you.

  • I chose Caron Simply Soft due to its sheen and used a 4mm hook to achieve a stiffer outcome.

  • Stitch counts appear in purple.

  • Work the last round of Slip Stitch in a loose manner to prevent pulling.

  • Small numbers in brackets denote corresponding photograph.

  • A magic circle can be used in place of the starting chain 4.

Materials:

4mm hook

Scrap yarn. I used Caron Simply Soft.

Tapestry Needle

Finished Measurements:

9cm/3.5inches across.  8cm/3.1inches deep (not including the chain). Finished size will depend upon chosen hook and yarn.
