This is a unique design, while still being simple enough that you can work away without a massive amount of concentration.

Linked double crochet (US) forms the basis of the pattern with Intarsia colour change across certain rows.

This is a great stash buster project. I used Dk weight yarn but other yarn weights could be used. The end size will vary dependent upon yarn weight and hook size.

4mm hook Clover Armour (click here for Clover Armour Hook).

C1= 1x Stylecraft Special Dk. Parchment Col 1218. 100g 295m per ball  (Click here for supplier) . Approximate amount used 380m/415.5yd if gauge is met.

C2= 1x Stylecraft Special Dk. Silver, Col 1203. 100g 295m per ball. (Click here for supplier) Approximate amount used 177m/193.5yd if gauge is met.

The scarf is finished at each end with a twisted fringe.

Tips for the fringe:

1.       Making the fringe the same length with each strand:

Aim to have each loop extension as close to the same length (in this case 35cm) as possible.  

2.       Measuring each loop length is time consuming. I tend to crochet in a sitting position with my crochet in my lap.  To streamline the loop measuring,  I used the Auburncraft corner cutting method.  Get a pen and a tape measure.  Place this on your leg.  Mark 35cm with the pen from the top of your leg to your knee (or there abouts). You then only must pull the loop out and check the measurement on your leg.  If it is winter and cold, you could do the same using masking tape on a pant leg.

3.       If you would like to alter the length of your fringe.  The following formula will work. 

Length 35cm = 35 twists of the loop.

Length 40cm= 40 twists of the loop and so on.  1 twist for each cm of length.

Finished Measurements:

·       186cm/73.2 inches Long including the edging. 26cm/10.2 inches Wide
