Of late, hearts have been a focus for me. I developed a new stitch that creates a fully reversible pattern with an embossed look to it, and the heart patterns were the first designs where I used this.
I have several other designs on the drawing board that will use this same stitch, but for now, it's hearts!
If you follow my work, you will know I am a fan of Bendigo Woollen Mills. Not only for their quality yarns, but also for their willingness to help smaller designers within Australia. Sometimes this help can be in the form of yarn, but mostly it is allowing indie designers like myself to sell our designs on their platform. They pass on all profits from these sales to the designer. This is huge for me!
I have been designing for a while now, and in my earlier days, I approached a few larger, well-known companies with my designs, only to receive the "Dear John" type reply: "So glad you love our yarn, and we don’t want any more designers right now, BUT do keep using/buying our yarn." So, it was basically a door slamming in one's face.
Those experience's have taught me to be thankful for companies that offer support and are willing to let the little guys in the door.
But back to the new design: Can You Feel My Heartbeat Blanket.
As stated, it is fully reversible. What you see on the front, you also see on the back. It has no back and front! And if you choose to use BWM Luxury as I did, the end result is a super soft and simply scrumptiously fabulous blanket.
