If you enjoy crochet patterns where the yarn truly shines, Violet Haze Wrap is a wrap design that balances simplicity with a touch of Auburncraft quirkiness. Designed to highlight beautiful hand-dyed yarn, this crochet wrap features an easy repeating pattern and a playful floral border.
Violet Haze began as an impulse buy.
You know that moment when you’re scrolling through yarn sellers’ posts and you spot a yarn so luxurious that, if you could reach through the screen, nothing would stop you from giving it a really good squeeze? Then it’s like your body is taken over and you have no control. The next thing you know, that yarn is in your cart and you’re pressing the purchase now button.
And just like that, I became the proud owner of two skeins of Neon Donegal Cloud Fingering in the colour Enchanted Wisteria.
I was super pleased with my purchase and did spend a considerable amount of time staring at this lovely pile of squishiness with love in my eyes. I wanted to do this yarn justice, so the cogs in my brain began plotting a course for the next unique Auburncraft crochet design.
With this design I wanted the yarn to be the star, but it still had to have the usual Auburncraft quirkiness. The result was a simple four-row repeating pattern for the main body of the wrap and, for that added quirky factor, a border with dangling flowers.
The pattern is now available on Ravelry and Etsy.
The final product is a wrap that ticks a number of boxes:
Yarn shining through — ✓
Pattern with a simple repeat — ✓
Added quirky factor — ✓
