Where did the year go?
It seems only yesterday I was showing off a square for Granny Square Day 2025.
This one kind of snuck up on me, and I had to have a little think about what I could do to honour the occasion.
But what actually is a Granny Square?
I have a visual of elderly ladies being forced to labour away, crocheting square after square for little reward.
Did these squares perhaps get their name because of this forced labour and all those unsuspecting grandmas?
Hands worn out from creating endless squares to appease the masses.
I may have been watching too many historical dramas.
Anyway...
Arctic Spring was designed a few years ago as a standalone square, and so it shall remain. I don't really design that many individual squares that don't form part of a larger design, but when I do, I try to make them interesting.
