There is one thing I never seem to run out of around here, and that is crochet projects.
I always have something on the go, and somewhere between the yarn, the designing, the writing and the testing, there is usually another pattern waiting in the wings.
Which brings me to pattern testers.
I’m currently looking for intermediate-level crochet pattern testers to join my testing pool. At the moment, I have a thick winter scarf ready to test, but this won't be the last project needing a few extra pairs of eyes and crochet hooks.
Pattern testing is an important part of the design process. Even when I have checked and rechecked a pattern, another crocheter can spot something I have completely missed. Sometimes it is a stitch count, sometimes an instruction that makes perfect sense to me but leaves someone else scratching their head, and occasionally it is something I simply haven't thought about.
You don't need to be a professional crocheter or an expert pattern editor. What I do need are crocheters who are comfortable working at an intermediate level, can follow written instructions, and are happy to provide honest and constructive feedback.
What I ask from my testers:
• Complete the project by the stated deadline.
• Let me know if you have questions or find something unclear.
• Check stitch counts and instructions as you work.
• Tell me if you are unable to complete the test rather than disappearing into the crochet wilderness!
In return, you'll get to crochet a new Auburncraft design before it is released and have a hand in helping make the finished pattern the best it can be.
