Yes… another dragonfly design.
Dragonflies are the heart of my signature style. Although I design many pieces without them, I always seem to wander back to where it all began — dragonflies.
My latest blanket, Dragonfly Citadel, is worked in a hexagon shape. Filet crochet is paired with post stitches and popcorns to create depth and texture. At the centre, a six-point star edged with post stitches radiates outward, encircled by watchful dragonflies and diamond-shaped turrets. A second ring follows, then the palisade walls, and finally a scalloped edge — the last line of defence.
The stitches are mostly basic, but there is no obvious repeat, and the placement of post stitches requires attention. The centre section does include a repeat to help establish the pattern.
Two YarnArt Flowers cakes were alternated throughout for a smooth, continuous colour flow.
The pattern is available on Ravelry and Etsy.
